Drone racing continues to grow in popularity across the globe. The latest evidence to this effect are the drone races that will take place from the 1st to the 3rd of September 2017 in Switzerland. The races will take place as part of the Swiss Rotor Sports Association ("SRSA") Cup. During the event, Switzerland's top drone racing pilots will be flying racing drones FPV style at speeds of up to 150mph. A final race gathering only the top finalist will then be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017. The races are part of the official Swiss FPV Racing Championship, and will count as a qualifier for the 2017 ERSA Euro Cup. The ERSA describes itself as "the premier drone sport organisation in Europe". The Swiss drone racing championship will take place in tandem with an air show organized by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ("EPFL") in Lausane, in partnership with the National Centre for Competence in Research Robotics ("NCCR Robotics").
